Special meals
Bamboo Airways provides special meals for passengers on international and domestic flights where meals are served. For flights departing from Noi Bai International Airport, Bamboo Airways offers 20 types of special meals. Flights departing from Tan Son Nhat International Airport currently offer 6 types, with more to be added in the near future.
The special meals are designed according to IATA guidelines, catering to a variety of passenger needs, including religious preferences, health conditions, and personal tastes. These meals contain all the necessary components to ensure they meet standard meal portions.
Special meals must be ordered at least 24 hours before departure, with the exception of Kosher meals (KSML), which must be ordered 48 hours in advance.
The specific special meals available are as follows:
1. Meals for infants and children
Baby meal (BBML) |
A specially prepared meal for children under 24 months of age, consisting of soft, pureed, easily digestible foods and appropriately processed ingredients suitable for their age. |

Child meal (CHML) |
Designed for children aged 2 and above. This meal does not include meat with bones, game meat, offal, hard fruits, spicy/salty seasonings, alcoholic beverages, etc. The meal is diverse, visually appealing, and suitable for young children. |
2. Vegetarian Meals
Vegetarian Oriental Meal (VOML) |
Vegetarian meal prepared in Chinese and East Asian style (for diners who love meals prepared in an East Asian style), using various vegetables, fruits, and seeds. It excludes meat from livestock, poultry, fish, seafood, eggs, and egg products. |

Vegan meal (VGML) |
Vegan meal prepared in Western style, excluding any animal-derived ingredients, including honey, eggs, and dairy products. |
Vegetarian Lacto-ovo Meal (VLML) |
Vegetarian food prepared in Western style, may include dairy products and eggs but excludes rennet-containing cheeses such as Brie, Gouda, Swiss... |
Raw vegetable meal (RVML) |
This meal consists of only fresh fruits and raw vegetables without any cooking or processing. It does not include caffeinated beverages unless specifically requested by the customer. |
Vegetarian Jain Meal (VJML) |
Vegetarian meal prepared in Indian style, based on the Jain tradition. It excludes meat from livestock, poultry, fish, seafood, dairy products, eggs, and root vegetables like onions, garlic, ginger, etc. Allowed to use vegetables and fruits that grow above the ground (without underground roots). |
3. Religious meals
Hindu Meal (HNML) |
Non-vegetarian meal prepared in Indian style, following Hindu tradition. It excludes beef, pork, but includes lamb, poultry, fish, eggs, and dairy products. |

Kosher Meal (KSML) |
Meal prepared according to Jewish dietary laws: meat must be chosen, prepared and served according to Jewish regulations and have Kosher certification. It does not combine meat and fish, meat and dairy, and excludes pork, rabbit, shellfish, etc. |
Muslim Meal (MOML) |
Meal prepared according to Islamic tradition and custom: excludes pork, pork products, and any products containing alcohol or not complying with Halal regulations. |
4. Special dietary requirements
Fruit plate meal (FPML) |
Meal includes only fruit-based ingredients such as seasonal fresh fruits, dried fruits, and fruit-based pastries. |

A suitable meal for individuals with diabetes that follows a low-sugar, balanced diet with adequate protein, fats, fiber, and complex carbohydrates. |
Gluten-free meal (GFML) |
Designed for passengers who are unable to tolerate gluten. These meals will not include any wheat, barley, oats, or rye-based products. |
Bland meal (BLML) |
A meal option that is mild and easily digestible, avoiding ingredients that may cause gastric discomfort. It prioritizes low-fat and high-fiber products. |
Low calorie (LSML) |
Specifically designed for passengers who follow a low-sodium or bland diet. This meal option contains reduced amounts of salt and focuses on providing a mild taste. |
None lastose meal (NLML) |
Designed for passengers who are intolerant to milk, dairy products or lactose-containing items. This meal option excludes any ingredients derived from milk or containing lactose. |
Low calorie meal (LCML) |
A meal option that avoids deep-fried foods, heavy cream-based products, sugar, excessive oil or fat, and high-calorie sauces. It focuses on offering nutritious and balanced choices, suited for passengers who are on low-calorie diet. |
Low fat meal (LFML) |
A meal option that includes lean meats, low-fat dairy products, egg whites, whole grain bread, and fresh fruits. It avoids deep-fried foods, animal fat, high-fat meats, shellfish, egg yolks, and heavy cream-based products. |
Sea food meal (SFML) |
A meal option that primarily includes various types of fish and seafood, accompanied by suitable vegetables and seasonings. |
