Bamboo Airways Strengthens Its Board of Directors, Ready for a New Growth Cycle
Following the success of the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders in 2025, the Board of Directors (BoD) of Bamboo Airways Joint Stock Company held its first meeting and unanimously elected Mr. Pham Ngoc Vinh as Chairman of the BoD.
Thus, the Board of Directors of Bamboo Airways for the 2023–2028 term includes 5 members: Mr. Pham Ngoc Vinh – Chairman of the BoD, Mr. Le Thai Sam – Standing Vice Chairman of the BoD, Mr. Vuong Cong Duc and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Trong – Vice Chairmen of the BoD, and Mr. Le Ba Nguyen – BoD member.
The new Chairman of Bamboo Airways stated: “I sincerely thank the Board of Directors and shareholders for their trust. Finalizing the Board of Directors is a key step in strengthening governance and continuing the comprehensive restructuring journey of Bamboo Airways. It aims to enhance executive capacity, reinforce financial potential, and prepare for a new growth phase.
Previously, at the Extraordinary General Meeting on July 5, 2025, shareholders approved the addition of Mr. Pham Ngoc Vinh and Mr. Vuong Cong Duc to the Board of Directors.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Vinh has 25 years of experience in investment, management, and executive leadership across various economic organizations. Before joining the Board of Bamboo Airways, he served as an advisor to the Board and contributed significantly to the airline’s strategic development.
Mr. Vuong Cong Duc has nearly 30 years of experience in Law, Finance, and Banking, and has held senior executive positions in various enterprises and financial institutions, including: Board Member of Viet Capital Commercial Joint Stock Bank, Chairman of Ba Ria – Vung Tau International Travel Services Company, and currently serves on the Board of Sacombank.
Mr. Vuong Cong Duc and former Chairman of Bamboo Airways, Mr. Phan Dinh Tue, are key representatives of Sacombank – a critical partner in the restructuring process and long-term strategic alignment with Bamboo Airways. Mr. Duc will take over responsibilities at Bamboo Airways from Mr. Tue, while Mr. Tue will continue to support and collaborate with Mr. Duc at Sacombank. This leadership succession and collaboration reflect the strategic synergy between Sacombank and Bamboo Airways, aiming toward recovery and sustainable growth.
Additionally, Bamboo Airways also elected Mr. Pham Van Phung as Head of the Supervisory Board. The Supervisory Board consists of four members: Mr. Pham Van Phung, Mr. Nguyen Tri Thong, Mr. Nguyen Vu Phong, and Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh.
Amid a growing domestic aviation market and rising demand for air transport, airlines are recovering post-pandemic and scaling operations, while domestic aviation infrastructure is receiving investment and expansion. Bamboo Airways is accelerating its recovery through restructuring and synchronously implementing modern solutions to improve operational processes, optimize resources, and enhance efficiency.
In the first half of 2025, Bamboo Airways recorded positive developments: seat load factor reached 88%, revenue exceeded 96% of the plan, and operational losses significantly narrowed, nearing breakeven. These are critical foundations for achieving profitability in the coming years.
Simultaneously, Bamboo Airways is implementing its 2025–2030 five-year strategic plan, actively working with consulting firms and strategic investors to strengthen financial resources and prepare for the next growth phase.

According to reports from airports on June 30 and July 1, 2025, many passengers were unable to access the VNeID application due to connection issues or system maintenance, which prevented them from completing airport check-in procedures.
To ensure a smooth check-in process, Bamboo Airways advises passengers to bring the original Citizen Identification Card or other valid identification documents as required when checking in at the airport.
We kindly ask for your cooperation and understanding.
Bamboo Airways Announcement on Carrying and Using Electronic Charging Devices with Lithium Batteries on Flights
In accordance with Directive No. 1027/CT-CHK dated February 26, 2025, issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam regarding enhanced aviation safety measures, and based on risk assessments related to lithium battery fire incidents on international flights in early 2025, Bamboo Airways is implementing stricter measures to identify and promptly address potential hazards caused by short circuits and fires involving electronic charging devices containing lithium batteries. Specific measures are as follows:
1. Passengers must strictly comply with lithium battery device control regulations
Passengers must fully adhere to the regulations of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam regarding the control of items containing lithium batteries, as outlined in Decision No. 1541/QĐ-CHK dated September 14, 2021. These regulations have been incorporated into Bamboo Airways' transportation policies and are published on the airline's official website, as well as at ticket counters and check-in counters at airports.
2. Regulations on carrying power banks on flights
Before boarding, passengers are required to proactively remove power banks from their carry-on luggage.
Onboard, passengers must keep power banks on their person or place them in a safe and easily visible location near their seat, ensuring they do not obstruct aisles or emergency exits.
The use of power banks or charging of electronic devices during the flight is strictly prohibited.
3. Handling abnormal situations
In the event of unusual temperature changes in a power bank or any device containing a lithium battery on board, passengers must immediately inform the flight attendants for necessary and timely action to ensure flight safety.
Bamboo Airways is not liable for any inconvenience or baggage loss (if any) resulting from emergency measures taken in accordance with regulations to address incidents involving lithium battery-powered items.
Bamboo Airways sincerely informs all passengers and appreciates your cooperation in ensuring the safety of all passengers and flights, as well as in complying with aviation safety directives from Vietnamese and international authorities.
